How do I plan a day with Unospace?
Write the tasks you want to finish today, each with a time estimate in parentheses. Pick the first one to start its timer, finish it, and move on. The menu bar shows your current task and its time left, and day balance tells you whether you’re ahead or behind plan.
1. Write today’s tasks
Section titled “1. Write today’s tasks”Open the panel with ⌘⇧Space, type a task with its estimate, and press ⌘↩:
Review client proposal (45)In the panel you can also leave out the parentheses: Review client proposal 45m or Write docs 1h 30m.
To write several at once, open the main window with ⌘L and switch to raw mode with ⌘⇧R. Each line is a task:
Review client proposal (45)Invoice Acme for October (20)Write documentation (1h 30m)Reply to SamTasks with an estimate make up Today. A task without one, like Reply to Sam, waits under Not planned until you give it an estimate. See Time estimates.
2. Start the first task
Section titled “2. Start the first task”In the panel, pick a task with the arrow keys and press ↩, or press ⌘1 to ⌘9. Its timer starts right away. The menu bar now shows the task and a countdown of its time left. ⌘P pauses and resumes.
3. Finish it
Section titled “3. Finish it”Press ⌘C in the panel when you’re done, or ⌘⇧C from any app. Unospace records how long it actually took and moves on. If you need more time, press ⌘= to add 10 minutes. See The timer.
4. Check your day balance
Section titled “4. Check your day balance”The panel footer shows whether you’re ahead or behind plan, for example 12m ahead. See Day balance.
