What is a focus session?
A focus session splits the time left on your current task into even work blocks, with a short break between them. Start one with ⌘F in the panel, or the Focus button. Focus sessions are part of Pro.
How are the blocks worked out?
Section titled “How are the blocks worked out?”Unospace divides the remaining estimate into blocks of at least 25 minutes, rounded to 5 minutes, with no short block left over. A 90-minute task becomes three 30-minute blocks. Change the minimum block length (10 to 90 minutes) in Preferences → Focus Sessions.
How long are the breaks?
Section titled “How long are the breaks?”On Auto, breaks are 5 minutes after blocks up to 25 minutes, 8 minutes after blocks up to 50, and 10 minutes after longer ones. You can set a fixed length from 1 to 30 minutes instead.
What happens at the end of a block?
Section titled “What happens at the end of a block?”You get a notification, “Block 1 of 3 done”, and a choice to Take a break or Keep going +10m. The timer keeps running until you choose. During a break, the menu bar counts down with ☕, and Unospace tells you when it’s over. Choose Back to work to carry on.
How do I end a session?
Section titled “How do I end a session?”Press ⌘F again or choose End focus. Completing the task or switching to another one ends it too. You get a summary like “3 blocks · 2 breaks · 1h34”.
If you change the task’s estimate during a session, only the blocks you haven’t started yet are re-planned.
